2. A great book that helps you and your children cope with the worry about and the grief of a pet's death. A spiritually uplifting way to deal with a hard subject. Wonderfully written with delightful illustrations.
"Are There Giraffes in Heaven, What About Hippopotamuses?"
by J. Michael Robertson.
Illustrated by Jennifer Becker.
Book is approximately 8" X 8" with 54 pages of script and drawings.

The story begins with a brother and sister, Stephen and Holly, being curious about do our pets go to heaven? This deep thinking was brought about by the death of a friend’s dog. After a family discussion, their father suggests they go to their friend and parish priest, Father Lewis. What ensues is a delightful discussion with Father Lewis and Stephen and Holly. The answer is full of insight, hope, and promise for young readers.
