*** Sculpture for Edmond's New Animal Shelter ***

First Love
by Missy Vandable

Paws for Life, Inc. has donated a life-size bronze sculpture by Missy Vandable for the new Edmond Animal Shelter. The piece (32”L X 17” W X 32”D) named “First Love” features a boy and his dog and is a charming addition to our shelter. The sculpture exemplifies our love of animals and will welcome visitors at the entrance.

Missy graduated from Southwest Texas State University. In her sculptures she strives to capture the world through the eyes of a child, making each sculpture a truly original creation. Her bronze sculptures can be seen at the Beaver Creek Fine Art Gallery, Vail Fine Art Gallery, and the Aspen Fine Art Gallery. Missy participates in several nationally juried art exhibitions, corporate and private showings. She currently resides in Texas with her husband Seth.

Through their matching funds program, the City of Edmond funded half the purchase of the sculpture, with Paws for Life, Inc. contributing the other half. It is now in place at the new shelter, 2424 Old Timbers Drive, Edmond.
