Micro-Chipping!

Paws for Life Inc. now offers pet owners a way to help Edmond’s homeless shelter animals while protecting their own cats and dogs. Through Paws for Life, the Edmond Animal Shelter will microchip pets from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, at the shelter.

The cost for micro-chipping, including registration of owner information, is $25 for one pet and $20 for multiple pets.

“Payments will be made to Paws for Life, with all proceeds going to benefit our shelter animals,” said Edmond Animal Welfare Supervisor Jim Fish.

	Thanks for visiting the home page of Paws for Life, Inc. We are a not-for-profit volunteer organization that works in conjunction with the City of Edmond Animal Shelter. Our purpose is to assist the shelter with its priority to find all healthy and adoptable animals good homes. We hope to decrease the number of animals that have to be euthanized. We help to assure that adoptable animals will be afforded the opportunity to have healthy and happy lives with a home and a family of their own. We have no personal knowledge of the sites that are listed nor do we recommend one over the others, but have tried to help you by making these links conveniently available.

		Paws for Life assists the Edmond Animal Shelter officers in the care of shelter animals. Volunteers bathe, exercise the dogs, clean the cages, and most importantly we give "TLC" to each dog and cat. Paws for Life assists officers in evaluating dogs and cats for suitable adoption and also assists people in choosing the appropriate pet for their situation. Paws for Life places pets through adoption fairs and personal contacts. Paws for Life volunteers raise funds and write grants to help provide for the care of shelter animals. Paws for Life works on educating the public in basic dog obedience training. Paws for Life educates pet owners as to the need for spaying or neutering of pets to help keep the animal population under control thereby decreasing the number of animals that are euthanized each year.
